Love Art? Our 5 Ways To Have A Bank Holiday Hoot Before May Is Oot...

What are your plans for the bank holiday weekend?  If you’re still at a loose end - and love your art - there’s no better place to be than right here in the East Neuk….

1.  East Neuk Open Studios is back on this weekend! Wander around artists residences in our beautiful string of fishing villages.

2. Take the coastal path and enjoy a close up of nature's own handiwork. It's the inspiration for so many local artists. xo

3. Do something different on Bank Holiday Monday. We still have a couple of spaces at our 10am art class with John Kelly.  Find out more here

4. Relax in the Funky Scottish cafe-gallery-boutique on the high street in #Pittenweem.  Our little space is a feast for all the senses with scrumptious treats, splashes of artistic colour and gorgeous, inspired gifts. Featured collections include bold, hand-painted ceramics and contemporary, coastal-style kitchenware by our resident artist, Karen Edward. Our menu includes gourmet soups, classic savouries, handmade cakes, Illy coffee and refreshing teas. Cosy up inside or enjoy fresh sea air at our alfresco seating on the village square. We do hope to be serving sunshine on the side…

5…so be adventurous and cast a cloot before May is oot!

Happy May Bank Holiday Weekend. xo

Oooh La La! Rivera Chic Sails Into Our Seaside Village…

Discover a gorgeous new collection from Club De Mer at the Funky Scottish cafe-gallery-boutique, on the high street in ‪#‎Pittenweem‬!
Classic ‪#‎stripes‬ are a smart addition to your capsule wardrobe this spring/summer. Throw on with capri pants, cropped jeans or wide leg trousers for simple, elegant ‘‪#‎Chanel‬’ inspired style.
We adore this timeless design - a signature look for Audrey Hepburn and of course Mademoiselle Coco too. Audrey Tatou is pictured as the designer in the film ‘Coco', next to the off-duty woman herself.
See our full Club De Mer collection inside Funky Scottish. Finally, complete the look by slowing down for a continental-style illy coffee - taken al fresco - at our pavement ‪#‎cafe‬.
Now, where did we put our yacht….

Art In The East Neuk! (Open Studios Weekend)

Its mid-May already! Time flies when you're having fun in the sun!

So, what are your plans over the next couple of weekends?

We recommend planning a creative retreat in the #EastNeuk for ENOS (East Neuk Open Studios).

The events are happening on 21st-22nd May AND 28th-29th May.

Artists will open the doors to their studios around our picturesque, historic #seaside villages...and Funky Scottish cafe-gallery-boutique will of course be open on the high street in #Pittenweem.

Discover more about East Neuk Open Studios at their facebook page or atwww.eastneukopenstudios.org/

Days Like This...

When it's not always raining
There'll be days like this
When nobody's complaining
There'll be days like this
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Well my mama told me there'd be days like this

It's Coeliac Awareness Week! So, Have Your Gluten Free Cake & Eat It ...

This week - Monday 9th May to Sunday 15th May - Coeliac UK is promoting Coeliac Awareness.  The campaign aims to improve diagnosis and if necessary, help people to find ways they can adopt and enjoy a gluten free life!

If you've chosen a gluten free diet, you'll know that eating out can sometimes be a challenge.  Here at Funky Scottish, we prefer to ensure that you can have your cake and eat it!

Our selection of scrumptious cakes - handmade locally by our fabulous baker Isobel - include imaginative, mouthwatering, gluten free options.

Our favourites include Mango & Cinnamon, Ricotta & Blueberry and Lemon, Parsnip & Hazelnut (pictured).

So, treat yourself all this week - and anytime - at Funky Scottish cafe-gallery-boutique.  Alongside our cakes, we serve nourishing soups, classic savoury rolls , refreshing teas and Illy coffee prepared by our trained barista, surrounded by beautiful, original gifts and artwork. Also, on sunny days, we spill out onto the pavement to embrace afresco cafe culture...

Hope to see you soon!
